Welcome to work in Finland and in Lavonia!
To be able to work in Finland, you need to take care of a few things when coming to the country. Here we have listed what you need to do.
Residence permit, EU-passport, or visa?
If you are an EU-citizen, you don’t need a residence permit or a visa. EU-passport is enough. People coming from outside the EU need a residence permit, and citizens of certain countries also need a visa. Here’s more info of these things: https://migri.fi/en/working-in-finland.
At the moment Ukrainians are allowed to work in Finland without a residence permit.
Tax card and bank account
You will need a tax card, and you should get it before the first payday. Get the tax card by visiting the Finnish Tax Administrations tax office. From there you will also get a Finnish personal identity code, which is needed to get the tax card. Also get a Finnish bank account. You can apply for it right after the first payday.
Notification of change of address
When you know your permanent address, make a notification of change of address to Kela (the social insurance institution of Finland). Also apply for a Kela-card in OmaKela-service. With that you can for example get health care in Finland. If you are moving to Finland for over a year, register yourself in Digi- ja väestötietovirasto (Finnish Digital Agency).
What about corona?
full vaccination series. If you have had COVID-19 in less than half a year, you also need to have a doctor’s certificate to proof it. In the border you will be physically examined, and in some cases, you need to get tested or stay in quarantine after coming to the country. When arriving from EU and Schengen countries there are no entry restrictions.
